We did see a few anglers over the Christmas period..........brave souls!...........a few runs but nothing on the bank so far!
Existing members fees are due in by the end of January........If you have not been in touch by this time I will presume that you will not be joining for 2008 and I will allocate that place to a new member. If you know you will not be rejoining please return your key as soon as possible.
We look forward to seeing you on the bank this year and wish you a successful season :)
November 2007
Hello folks
Nothing to report as far as the fishing goes seeing as the syndicate is made up of fair weather anglers lol.
The decision to remove the pier has met with a unanimous approval albeit some sad to see a favourite peg lost from the end of it! but it now means that the pads can be fished from other pegs instead of the one peg dominating that stretch of the lake and has also created another island feature.
Andy is still in the lead for the largest Carp out this year to 24lb + and looks set to win the free membership place for 2008, unless of course somebody takes a brave pill and dones their thermals to put some time in before the New Year.
With regards to the catfish season, IanW finally came out on top with his epic battle against DavidH in terms of the number of fish caught!
Ian caught 16 Cats in total to David H's 11 Cats but hats off to both of them for having a great season. In total 53 Cats were caught throughout the year with twelve of them weighing over 20Lb.
In all we are pleased with the overall results from the Carp anglers who have put time and effort into their sport resulting in some excellent fish on the bank as you would all agree that Fell View is not a runs water.
David and I would like to express our thanks to all our members for a great season and some fab socials and we hope to see you next year (if you dont make it before then lol).
October/November
Nothing to report for the last two months as the cold weather set in and it would appear that all our members prefer the warmer weather, although a few have threatened to brave it. So far nobody has.
Janice
The last weekend
Shaun came for a two day session and managed three Carp ( 2 good doubles) The bad news is that he lost a large Carp and a Large Cat both smashing him up, to say he was gutted was an understatement as he reckoned that the lost Carp would have been his personal best from Fell View.
He also got a bonus 2lb Crucian.
Roy and Bill adopted pole tactics and Roy landed approximately 15lb of bream on pellet and Bill landing 12.lb of mainly Roach.
That's all for this month folks

GONE FISHING
Janice
28th July
Update for this month
Pete Caught 2 Carp on an overnighter 27th July at 12lb and 13lb
David Knee Caught a 14lb Carp also 27th
Matt had a Carp on Roach Deadbait and 1 Cat weighing in at 15lb
Last weekend Kev caught a double figure Cat and David also caught a double figure Cat.
Coarse Anglers have been catching plenty of Silver Fish with plenty of nice sized Roach
July so Far
David Knee came to target the Cats and while catching live bait he managed two 2lb Roach and a good sized bream........................................Thankfully he did not use these as live bait.
The Cat fishing has been diffucult so far this month with Matt putting in the most hours to date and has not managed to convert the few runs he has had into fish on the bank.
The Carp fishing has also proved to be difficult with the best of the month being a 15lber but lots of Carp are visible cruising on the surface. Most of them appear to be staying in the confines of the reeds in the shallows.
David and I did a night session last night for the Cats (18th July) Thanks to Dave Kirby for catching our live baits as David could'nt be bothered. At midnight we had a screeming run on a Roach which when hooked it took off like a steam train and was unstoppable, before snapping off. A 1:00am we had another take but missed it and yet another take at 4:30am which resulted in a very hard fighting 13 1/2 lb Cat....................................David's 1st of the month despite putting numerous hours in!!
Once again the Silver fish are being caught in abundance........................last week David had a 4lb Bream while catching live bait.
Also last week we found a huge Roach dead in the margins which we estimate was around the 3lb mark, this was obviously an old fish but it just goes to show that there some suprises to be caught.
Sorry for not updating this sooner but I have lost the notes and don't have specific details but as a generalisation lots of silverfish were caught mainly by Cat anglers catching live bait.
Plenty of Cats were caught as they went on a feeding rampage for most of the month, with many anglers being succesfull almost all of the Cats came out to live baits.
Matt had 2 Cats on consecutive nights at the end of the month, 1 being an ounce short of a 20lber and the other was 21lb + so close to a brace of 20's ........................a feat rarely achieved in the North West.
Eric Rose and Martin were succesful and caught quite a few Cats.
Keith and Shaun caught 2 Cats each, both of Shaun's being 20lb +.
David caught 2 Cats within half an hour of dark from the end of the pier and then ran out of live bait, so he improvised and collected a bunch of worms from the compost heap, put 17 worms on one hook and half an hour later caught a 14lb 12oz Mirror Carp.
Appologies to the other anglers who caught who I may not have mentioned.
May 17th update
So far May has proved fruitful for both the Carp and the Catfish.
Eric and Rose landing 20lb + Catfish as well as numerous smaller ones.
Shaun caught 2 Cats, 1 at 22lb +
Daniel did an overnight session caught 3 carp and lost 2
Geoff caught 3 Cats on his first overnight session up to 21lb and caught more Cats and Carp on his second night
Pete came for 1 overnight session and landed a small cat on pellet during the day
Carl caught 5 Carp over his session mostly doubles on Halibut pellets

The last week of April.
Jane caught a 23lb Cat on saturday night on live bait ..................................That makes her the lake record holder so far
Well done Jane
Rose, Eric and Martin Porter arrived to target the Cats and managed to get two, 1 at 20lb and 1 at 12lb.
they returned two days later and caught 2 more, 1 at 14 and a half pound and 1 around 10lb.
Roy and Pete made a visit and caught 25lb of silver fish between them on the pole on Sunday.
Dave Lappine and his mate fished on sunday night, Dave caught a decent Cat and his mate managed a Carp in the shallows.
Shaun caught 2 Cats on Monday night 1 @ 22lb 130z and the other one weighing in at 9lb, both were caught on livebait.
So far 4 x 20lb Cats have seen the banks in the last 3 weeks
The Tench are now feeding and also plenty of Bream
Not many of the Carp are feeding as yet but most of the Carp anglers have been targeting the Cats instead and have been chuffed with the results.
Thanks for all the photo's so far and please keep sending them, our email address is: fellview@fellviewlake.com
See you all soon

23rd April
Brett came to do an overnighter targeting the Cats. at 11.30pm he had a run on livebait and missed it but at 12.00am he had another run and managed to land a nice moggie at 11lb 8oz, he was pleased for this was his first English Cat.
22nd April
David and myself did an overnight session, missing a run at 2am but managed to connect with the next run at 4am resulting in a 21lb 4oz Cat.
David was well chuffed as this is his heaviest English Cat to date.
17th April
Carl, Kevin and Shaun fished for the weekend and all caught Carp the largest falling to Carl at 15lb one of the trio he landed.
Kevin and Shaun caught one Carp each and Shaun landed two Catfish at 20lb 4oz and 9lb, he also missed a screaming run in the early hours of Monday morning on gudgeon live bait.
Thursday 6th April
Stewart and Phil decided to come and have a bit of an afternoon session after watching the weather reports which promised a dry day...............needless to say the weathermen got it wrong, the temperature dropped.......................the wind picked up and the rain set in yet again.
Albeit Stewart managed to catch a 9lb 2oz Mirror on the most unusual bait set up !!
Phil Managed an 8lb Mirror on the 26th March
Mathew came for an afternoon session and managed a net full of small Roach.
Shaun and Keith did a night session on Saturday and woke up to 4 inches of snow, needless to say the Carp were not feeding.
Exiting news for the members wanting to catch Catfish!
We have just stocked a further 8 Catfish, with 4 being 20-25lb and 4 being between 8-10lb, this takes the Catfish stock up to 19.
This should make fishing for them a viable proposition to all members, it should also help to control the vast number of Gudgeon.
If you are fishing for Cats please ensure that you are using a strong, abrasive resistant braid, to avoid being bitten off. Catfish have very abrasive pads in thier mouths and will make short work of light lines. If in doubt please ask David for advice.
We took some photographs of the Cats being introduced to the lake see them in the photo album.
There are also some photo's of the new members area, hope you like it!

Janice
Happy new year to everybody.
We are kicking off the new year with the addition of 4 Catfish on Monday 30th, the Cats weigh in at 20-25lb each.
This brings our total number of Cats to 16.
We are also in the process of sourcing a meeting room for our members, we may have it sorted out by early Feb, check this page for updates
There is a list of people waiting to join the syndicate, if you do not wish to renew your membership please let me know ASAP.
Hi,
sorry for the delay in the update! things have been a bit hectic.
Three Catfish were caught in July up to 14lbs, all 3 were caught during the night.
Lots of Carp have been caught but none of the bigger fish have shown
david has had 37 Carp during August, 14 of them being caught on the surface on crust and dog biscuits. The other 23 succumbed to large Halibut pellets, cast to the islands.
David also had one Catfish on Halibut pellet and lost a big Catfish after a ten minute fight when it bit through his braid
Lots of Tench and Crucian's have been showing and some very large Roach have been caught.
Hope You enjoy the new photographs
Bye for now

The end of May
By the end of the month members James Forshaw and Gary Newman caught 10 Carp between them over a 24 hour period to 15 1/4 1lb, the majority caught throughout the afternoon in the shallows. Gary also caught a 13llb Catfish during the same week in the early hours.
Janice caught a 12llb Catfish on David's rods when he went to answer the call of nature.
Day anglers have been enjoying good sport with Tench, Bream, Roach and Perch.
Arthur Slater enjoyed some excellent Roach catches whilst fishing for Carp.
Roach to 2llb are being caught by Carp anglers.
The few anglers trying for the Cats have been catching large Perch up to 3llb on live baits.
David had a couple of double figure Carp on floating crust.
Derek has enjoyed consistent sport concluding with 3 Carp on his last visit and two fish lost when they reached the sanctuary of the reed bed, he also hooked and played a large Cat for over 20 minutes then lost it when he bent down to pick up his landing net, to add to his misery the same thing happened with a very large Perch the following morning.
Update 7th May
The Crucians and Tench are showing well now and overall there seems to have been a lot of activity around the lake, it has been noticed that fry are jumping out of the water all over the place!
David caught 2 of the elusive Catfish at 9lb 80z and 10lb ( come on lads the gauntlet is down for the Catfish.............can you beat David!)
Janice had a nice Mirror on her secret paste recipe
Derek missed a couple of screaming runs on live bait during the night
James Forshaw caught a 10lb 80z Mirror
On Friday Morning Gary Newman caught 2 Carp one of which was a good double also caught lots of Tench on the feeder
last weekend both Dave Gannon and Jim Hind had a net full of Silver fish on the pole.
David had some quality Roach on luncheon meat intended for carp 1 week ago to 2lb 1oz
Wayne Hallsall caught some nice Perch to 2llbs and some good Bream on Hilibut pellets
Gary Newman caught some quality Perch perch to 1lb 120z on worm
Roy Kendrick caught a 16lb 2oz mirror on Thursday 21st at 2am from the Pier point see the webs album.
Apparently there have been carp caught during the day recently but we have no info at the moment, please keep me posted so that we can keep this site up to date, thanks
Friday 25th
Rob still holds this years record so far with a 16lb 8oz carp on a ledger out to the island on Boilies.
David caught a 16lb mirror carp at 10.00pm from the end of the pier on float fished luncheon meat fishing 2ft depth in the margin.
Sunday 20th
The rising temperatures have seen a lot more fish movement towards the shallows.
Derek had 2 mirrors on Friday night 1 double and a single
Rob had 4 carp on Saturday night the two biggest both in the sixteen pound bracket.
As yet there seems to be little movement amongst the smaller species........................Update:.....by this evening David Gannon had a good day with a mixed bag of Roach, Ide, Skimmers, Perch and Gudgeon
Arthur Fowler and Grandaughters also caught some Roach and Perch
5th March
After a marathon month the syndicate is now full, any further applications will be placed on a waiting list.
We have seen some of our new members already who were keen to see what they could catch, so far 8lb mirrors and leathers have been caught..........4 in total, freezing temperatures are likely to be the reason for the lack of feeding, so hopefully when the water warms up we should see the bigger fish coming out.......................please keep me posted
